How open are we to music? Are we aware of its power/benefits? Do we use music to optimize our lives?
The other day, my daughter woke up feeling a bit groggy and slighty blue. This could have been due to an unpleasant dream, anxiety or simply tiredness. I was amazed at how quickly she was able to assess her mood and how quickly she knew what to do. She asked if she could have some music play in the background, while she got ready for school.
Naturally, I concurred. I noticed a very pleasant transition. The music grabbed her, pulled her out of mood and allowed her to smile and feel happy.
On a side note, those of you that know me, know that I do not like running nor jogging. However, the music pumping out of my iPod does inspire me to jog and run on the treadmill at the gym. Therefore, I am very grateful for my music.
