I experienced a pretty major setback one day. I knew that I wanted to make peace with this event. Fortunately, through a slow process, I was successful to make peace with it. I then realized that perhaps it wasn’t a setback afterall. This event gave me an opportunity to slow down and review a certain area of my life. As part of this self assessment, I rediscovered my strengths/weaknesses and layed out a plan to address the latter.
I can now say that I am grateful for the setback, as it opened my eyes to an area that I needed to address. Therefore, this incident, which initially seemed a setback, was really a ‘setforward’.
