Journey vs. Destination

“Success is a jouney, not a destination.  Happiness is to be found along the way, not at the end of the road.”

— Robert Updegraff

Too often we set goals for ourselves and we work hard to achieve them.  We become so focused and driven to meet these goals, that we miss what’s happening along the way.  We, as parents, work hard to provide for our families, not only today, but tomorrow.  If we have our heads buries too deep in our goals, we may just miss out on life’s simple pleasures, such as watching our kids develop and play.  I’m not saying it’s easy.  It’s a constant balance for me.  However, this quote is a reminder to me to slow down every once in a while, enjoy life and be content.

How is your life, a journey or a destination?

  1. Thanks for sharing–you are right–I need to slow down, too. Keep it in balance!!
