Gorgeous sky last night. So much to be grateful for.
Disappointed? Frustrated? Angry? Loss of hope? Step outside. Go for a walk. Surround yourself in green. Seek nature.
Find a path, trail, park removed from concrete, cars and buildings. Walk. Just walk, at an easy pace. Breathe slowly. If your mind starts to drift with the thoughts that got you there, bring your focus to one thing; your pace, your breathing or my favorite, just taking in the natural beauty, as the landscape changes. Walk as long or as little as you want. I often walk until I have found inner peace and tranquility. The more I walk, the more my mind and body are trained to experience this transformation to peace. Here’s another benefit. Depending on the challenge that you are struggling with and how long you’ve been walking in nature, you are often rewarded by finding clarity.

If you’re thinking … I’ve experienced a loss, I’ve lost my job or I’m on furlough, what do I do? Serve.
Servitude takes the attention off of us. It refocuses the spotlight on others. Servitude channels our energy and attention towards them. It allows us to meet the immediate needs of others. At a time of loss, servitude makes us feel surprisingly ‘rich’, perhaps because we have abundant love and energy to give away. Also, the process, not only lifts others up, but us too. I feel that servitude is fulfilling, gratifying and rewarding.

Happiness. What does it mean? How do we get it? How do we keep it?
I sense that we, as a society, spend a vast amount of time, chasing or searching to acquire happiness. Don’t get me wrong, I, too, enjoy being happy. However, I find that happiness is a temporary state. It’s shiny and glossy.
I’ve come to realize that I prefer to seek contentment instead. Contentment is more of a state of mind or a way of life.
By expressing gratitude for, what we may consider to be, the small things in life, I am rewarded with an inner peace and able to experience true contentment. Give it a try.

From an early age, we’re taught to conform. We’re taught there’s one path for each and every one of us. But, that’s not necessarily the case, right? We conform, either because it’s truly aligned with who we are or because we feel pressured. We assume it is safer and less risky to conform, than to be unique, or in this case, stand out.
So, we bury our authentic selves deep down, ashamed or too weak to show who we truly are. We do this just so that we may be liked and accepted by others. But at what cost?
Are we living in integrity with ourselves? Are we true to ourselves?
From my perspective, life’s too short to live someone else’s life or meet other’s expectations. Assess your life. Are you conforming? How’s it working for you? If it’s benefiting you, keep it going. If not, break free from the weight of conformity, experience liberation and a renewed spirit!

I attended the funeral of a friend, Tim. Although I’m saddened by his loss, I am grateful for awareness. Tim had many passions, which he pursued actively. He also sensed, when others were struggling and genuinely lend them a hand.
Let’s make an effort to learn from Tim’s life. Pursue your passion. Help others. Express your affection for your loved ones. Make a positive impact on each person you come in contact with. And last, as a friend used to say “there’s no dress rehearsal, this is it”. So, do it now. Don’t put it off.
