Gorgeous sky last night. So much to be grateful for.
Disappointed? Frustrated? Angry? Loss of hope? Step outside. Go for a walk. Surround yourself in green. Seek nature.
Find a path, trail, park removed from concrete, cars and buildings. Walk. Just walk, at an easy pace. Breathe slowly. If your mind starts to drift with the thoughts that got you there, bring your focus to one thing; your pace, your breathing or my favorite, just taking in the natural beauty, as the landscape changes. Walk as long or as little as you want. I often walk until I have found inner peace and tranquility. The more I walk, the more my mind and body are trained to experience this transformation to peace. Here’s another benefit. Depending on the challenge that you are struggling with and how long you’ve been walking in nature, you are often rewarded by finding clarity.
So, here’s my challenge to you. Walk today, even if for 5min. Then, write a comment below about your experience or your alternative to walking. I want to hear from you!
If you’re thinking … I’ve experienced a loss, I’ve lost my job or I’m on furlough, what do I do? Serve.
Servitude takes the attention off of us. It refocuses the spotlight on others. Servitude channels our energy and attention towards them. It allows us to meet the immediate needs of others. At a time of loss, servitude makes us feel surprisingly ‘rich’, perhaps because we have abundant love and energy to give away. Also, the process, not only lifts others up, but us too. I feel that servitude is fulfilling, gratifying and rewarding.

Gratitude photography? What does it mean? To me, it is the perfect union of 2 of my favorite words!
Gratitude. Whether we’re aware of it or not, there’s abundant beauty in our lives, every day, right under our noses. Take a beautiful crisp Fall morning, a warm sunrise or flowers on a nature walk. It’s there. It depends on whether we believe it exists and also whether we choose to see it.
Photography. The camera, a tool that helps me focus and discipline my mind, heightens my awareness of that beauty. Also, when using my camera, the experience becomes a fun journey of exploration and discovery. When I go out with an open mind and grateful perspective, I am always rewarded with new discoveries. Additionally, I enjoy sharing the images with others, as my way to increase our awareness and gratitude for the gifts we’ve been given.
I’ll leave you with the following thought, which you can use in many aspects of your life. It may require a shift in perspective, but it is attainable.

Happiness. What does it mean? How do we get it? How do we keep it?
I sense that we, as a society, spend a vast amount of time, chasing or searching to acquire happiness. Don’t get me wrong, I, too, enjoy being happy. However, I find that happiness is a temporary state. It’s shiny and glossy.
I’ve come to realize that I prefer to seek contentment instead. Contentment is more of a state of mind or a way of life.
By expressing gratitude for, what we may consider to be, the small things in life, I am rewarded with an inner peace and able to experience true contentment. Give it a try.
